The 29-year old fractured his ankle playing against Yeovil in September 2013 and following an unsuccessful series of operations, has been forced to cut short his career.
Tierney gained promotion to the Premier League with Norwich City in 2011 and featured in 18 Premier League games for the Canaries during the next two seasons before moving to Bolton in the summer of 2013.
