Obafemi Martins is set to replace Odion Ighalo at Shanghai Shenhua, according to the Shields Gazette.
The former Newcastle United striker has been without a club since leaving Shenhua in 2018.
Now the Chinese Super League are prepared to bring Martins back to replace Ighalo, who is on loan at Manchester United until May 31.
The news could be good for United, who are hoping to sign former Nigeria international Ighalo on a permanent deal.
The 31-year-old has scored four times in eight appearances for the Red Devils since arriving in January.
