Former Newcastle United striker Yoan Gouffran has hit out at former Magpies manager Steve McClaren.
The 33 year-old is now with Armenian Premier League champions FC Ararat-Armenia.
A pre-season row led to the forward only featuring eight times in the doomed 2015/16 campaign, and often in an unfamiliar central midfield role.
Pulling no punches, Gouffran told ChronicleLive: "Steve McClaren was the worst manager I had.
"When he came, he said he wanted me to stay. We went to the USA for pre-season and I was playing.
"One week before the transfer window closed, he said to me you have to leave the club. I said to him it's impossible to find a club in the week – you had to tell me before.
"After that, we had a bad relationship. We didn't talk to each other, and I started to play central midfield.
"People were blaming me because I stayed. This year was very bad, but I still worked in my corner."
