Former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is getting involved in Coventry City.

The Mike Ashley-owned Frasers group are the preferred bidders to buy Coventry City's stadium, says The Sun.

Rugby Union side Wasps going into administration has left the stadium, which was previously in their ownership, open to a bidding war.

Former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has emerged as the frontrunner to buy the CBS Arena, with the view of it continuing to provide a home for Coventry and Wasps.

It is also reported that there are no plans for Ashley to try and buy Coventry at this stage with the deal only surrounding the stadium.
