Defender Ryan Taylor is raring to go following his move to Hull City.
Hull recently completed the signing of the versatile Taylor on a free transfer following his exit from Newcastle United but many are not too sure of how the move will turn out due to the defender's injury record.
However, the 30-year-old is confident regarding his fitness and has stated that he is determined to help Hull earn a place back in the Premier League after choosing the over a number of other clubs who were showing interest.
"There were a lot of clubs interested in me," Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail. "They were mostly Championship sides and a couple from abroad which appealed to me, but the best leagues are in England.
"What a challenge it is to get back into the best league. I had meetings with managers and I was invited to go training with a few clubs but I knew when Steve phoned me it was right.
"From afar, the manager didn't know where my fitness was. I like to think I was in good condition because I've kept myself in good shape over the summer. After just two training sessions he said he wanted to keep me which was a big boost for me.
"The fact he wanted me was a major reason for me joining Hull City. Steve has been around the game a long time and knows a lot of players and for him to want a player like me is nice."
