Former Napoli midfielder Francesco Montervino is sorry seeing Lorenzo Insigne leaving for Toronto FC.

Insigne will join Toronto at the end of the season when his contract with Napoli expires.

Taranto sporting director Montervino told Radio TMW: "Napoli loses and so does Italian football, it is not fair that a champion of Lorenzo's level should go to another country to seek fortunes and satisfactions.

"I have always hoped that the operation would not go well, instead I have to comment on it. He is another champion who is leaving ... The only comforting thing is that he hasn't listened to sirens from other Italian clubs. I wish him the best possible path."
