Former Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has cooled talk of taking charge of Portsmouth.
Southgate is prepared to wait for the right offer to come along and has hinted that financially-crippled Portsmouth would not be of interest to him.
"I have been told that my name was mentioned in the papers regarding the Portsmouth job, but I am not taking it too seriously," he said in the Daily Star.
"Obviously I will look at any job offer on its individual merits, but we will have to wait and see."
