Former Manchester United midfielder Chris Eagles is trialling with Coventry City.

The 29-year-old free agent is training with the Sky Blues, having spent time at Preston North End and Wigan Athletic during the close season.

Eagles was contracted to Charlton Athletic last season.

He graduated from Manchester United's academy but failed to impose himself on Sir Alex Ferguson's plans.

While at Old Trafford he enjoyed two separate loan spells at Watford.
