Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda admits he could return to Italy this summer.

Macheda was snapped up by Manchester United as a junior player from Lazio's youth team.

"I gave myself another four years before returning. Looking back I was right: first the youth system at Lazio was not as it is now, there were many good players but were not given a chance.

"They now have more possibilities."

He added: "When you get a call from a team like Manchester United, then it is hard to say no."
