Former Manchester United striker Jovan Kirovski was key to LA Galaxy signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swede's deal was confirmed by Galaxy on Friday.

In his role as LA Galaxy's sporting director, Kirovski is tasked with luring players to the US from Europe.

Following Ibrahimovic's season-ending knee injury last spring, Kirovski ensured Galaxy kept up contact with the player.

"During this time, I was constantly in contact with him, just staying engaged whether in the phone or in person," Kirovski said. "Nobody believed it would happen, but then all of the sudden things got real.

"It's not easy to sign a contract, but now, we finally got it over the finish line."
