Neil Webb feels Reading boss Brian McDermott faces a dilemma in January.

Webb is a former Reading and Manchester United star.

"In January the manager has got two choices," Webb told the Reading Post.

"He could get some big names in, but they might not help in a dogfight.

"Or, he could get some hardened professionals who know what it's all about and could do a good job.

"You've also got to have a close spirit - at Forest we didn't have the resources to spend money, but we stayed a close-knit family, socialising together and knowing what everyone wanted on the pitch."
