Ex-Man Utd keeper Bosnich backs De Gea over Keane criticism

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich is defending David De Gea after his howler against Everton on Sunday.

The Spaniard was labelled as 'arrogant' by United legend Roy Keane after his lax passing resulted in a Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal in the 1-1 draw.

And Bosnich believes a lot of the criticism is over the top.

"It wasn't a good error but in terms of being arrogant, unless you know the person 100 per cent I don't really think you can make that type of call," the former United goalkeeper told Sky Sports.

"In terms of the goalkeeping position, there's a very fine line between arrogance and confidence.

"Yes, it was a poor mistake but he came back from it very well to be fair."
