Former Manchester United defender Paul McGrath has urged the club to move for Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar. Vlaar was one of the standout performers for the Netherlands as he helped them reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
"Man United's defence is an area which could do with strengthening," McGrath told talkSPORT.
"They have lost Vidic, Ferdinand and probably Evra.
"With Luke Shaw coming in, it's going to be a very young and inexperienced defence.
"I'm hoping he'll bring in a good experienced defender. Rob Vlaar would be on that list."
