Blackburn Rovers announce that former Manchester United defender Wes Brown is to play for the Under-23 team against Middlesbrough later.

The 36 year old, a two-time Champions League winner, has been with the Championship club all summer, but has been sidelined with a calf problem.

He has trained for the past week, and Blackburn say he will feature as a trialist. "We are hopeful that he will get 60 minutes in the game and build up, said Rovers boss Owen Coyle.
