Ex-Man Utd defender Blind: Ajax fans will see my best years

Former Manchester United defender Daley Blind insists Ajax will see his best years.

The 28 year-old Dutchman was signed by Ajax for a club record fee rising to €20.5m.

"This is the right moment for me to come back," said Blind.

"I am happy to be back. Ajax is home, Amsterdam is home, so that feels good. In the summer we considered my options. Ultimately, Ajax became very concrete and then I started to think about it seriously. I made the choice with my heart and happy to return.

"I certainly did not come back to finish, I feel fit. I am 28 and I feel strong."

Blind's father, Danny, has also joined Ajax as an advisor.

But Daley insists: "As a commissioner he could not play any role in this. It is very coincidental that we both now return to Ajax. This has been totally separate from each other."
