Ex-Man Utd, Chelsea midfielder Veron out of retirement at 41!

Juan Sebastian Veron has come out of retirement at the age of 41.

The Argentine midfielder, affectionately known as La Brujita, is back playing for boyhood club Estudiantes in the Argentine Primera Division.

Former Manchester United and Chelsea man Veron retired from professional football in 2014 to step into the president's role at Estudiantes but has now signed an 18-month contract to play on.

Veron will begin playing in 2017 and will donate all of his wages to the development of the club.

An Estudiantes statement read: "Juan Sebastian Veron signed the contract that ties him to the club as a player for 18 months.

"The current president will play both the first division tournament and the Copa Libertadores and will receive in return a minimum salary that will be donated for the development of the club.

"La Brujita (Veron's nickname) has been training alongside Professor Leandro De Rose in recent months to get in the best physical shape for the 2017 season."

During his playing days in Europe, Argentina great Veron also played for such clubs as Sampdoria, Parma, Lazio and Inter Milan in Italy.
