Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is coy about contact with Real Madrid this season.

There was talk of Real president Florentino Perez moving to rehire Mourinho after the dismissal of Julen Lopetegui - and then later with Santiago Solari. However, he ultimately convinced Zinedine Zidane to return.

Mourinho told RMC Sport: "Real Madrid? Some things are true, others are not. Some clubs wanted me, others did not. The only thing I can say and you will draw your conclusions, but when I left Manchester United I made the decision not to take a team during the season.

"I hope I can be back in July."
