Ex-Man Utd, Atletico ace Forlan nets Cerezo Osaka double

Diego Forlan scored his first brace in the J.League as Cerezo Osaka drew 2-2 with local rivals Gamba Osaka on the weekend.

The Uruguayan ace, who joined Cerezo from Brazilian club Internacional in January, scored either side of the break as his side led before coming from behind to force a draw.

The ex-Manchester United, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid forward gave Cerezo the lead in the 21st minute before a double from Hiroyuki Abe had Gamba in front eight minutes into the second half.

But Forlan rallied for the home side in the 62nd minute to score his third league goal of the campaign, in his seventh appearance, and fourth overall.

The draw has Cerezo sitting eighth on the Japanese top flight table while Gamba dropped to 15th after winning just once in their first seven outings.
