Ex-Man Utd and Tottenham forward Berbatov close to India move

Dimitar Berbatov is closing on a move to Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters, Sky Sports understand.

A transfer to Kerala will see the 36-year-old once again link up with Rene Meulensteen, who recently succeeded ex-Crystal Palace and Reading boss Steve Coppell as Blasters' head coach.

Meulensteen was first-team coach at Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson signed Berbatov from Tottenham in a deal worth over £30m in 2008.
