Ex-Man Utd academy chief McClair: Greenwood can match Giggs, Scholes

Former Manchester United academy chief Brian McClair is convinced by the potential of Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood fired in the winner against Inter Milan yesterday in the International Champions Cup in Shanghai.

United hero McClair reckons the striker, 17, can be as good as Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

He posted to social media: "If United can look after Greenwood in the same way that (Sir Alex) Ferguson did with Giggs and Scholes, then he can be as good as they were.

"He has the tools for the job that they had!"
