Ex-Man City defender Mee 'enjoying every minute' at Burnley

Ben Mee says he has no regrets about leaving Manchester City to establish himself with Burnley.

The 25-year old defender came through City's youth academy but was unable to break into the senior ranks wo was subsequently loaned to Leicester City in 2011 before a successful spell with the Clarets which saw him sign a permanent deal at Turf Moor in January 2012.

Since then, Mee has helped Burnley gain promotion to England's top flight and admits he is loving his time in the more modest surroundings in Lancashire.

"If you are good enough you are going to play. If not, there are other places," said Mee.

"I have enjoyed every minute of being here. Last season was a massive highlight and playing in the Premier League this season is brilliant, so I have no regrets at all.

"There's a big demand in the Premier League for success, a lot of teams want success immediately and sometimes it takes the lads a little longer to develop.

"Some lads can go in there and do the job straight away and some it takes a few more years, it's worked out for me well and I'm pleased with the route I've taken."

Mee has appeared 10 times in the Premier League this season which has taken his overall Clarets games tally to 107.
