DC United star Wayne Rooney has been speaking with New York City FC coach Domenec Torrent.

Rooney has been nicking Pep Guardiola's secrets as he prepares to become a boss.

Ex-Manchester United skipper Roo, 33, picked the brains of Pep's former Manchester City No 2 and current New York City chief Torrent.

Torrent said: “I'm sure Wayne will become a good coach because the last conversations I've had with him were about that."

Rooney, who now plays for DC United, took the chance to quiz Torrent when they played in the Open Cup this month.

The United legend clearly admires the work which has been done by the Spaniards at City.

Torrent, who worked with Guardiola for 11 years, said: “He's interested in becoming a coach and he can be a top coach in the Premier League.

“If he can, it's good news because he's a legend in the Premier League and football around the world.

“It's important these players stay in the game.

“I love this guy, I'm a supporter of Manchester City and he's United but for me he's a good guy."
