Manchester City cult hero Andy Morrison hailed the performance of Zak Steffen for Sunday's Carabao Cup final triumph against Tottenham.
Morrison pointed to the crucial save Steffen made to deny Giovani Lo Celsco early in the second half when the score was still goalless as a key factor.
Steffen dived low and got a vital hand to keep out Lo Celsco's goalbound low drive. And former City skipper Morrison felt it proved to be a pivotal moment in the game.
“As much credit as we give to Aymeric Laporte for the winning header, let's talk about the keeper and the save he made," Morrison told City's website.
“It is a fabulous save. It would have been typical to dominate the game and go 1-0 down, which would have made it very difficult.
“He [Steffen] played a major part in that and he will have been the proudest man in there because you are a part of that squad."
