Former Real Mallorca coach Jose Luis Oltra isn't surprised by Marcos Asensio's impact during Real Madrid's preseason.

Such has been Asensio's form that Real coach Zinedine Zidane is rethinking plans of sending the winger away on-loan this season.

Oltra, who gave Asensio his debut at 17, isn't surprised and told Marca: "I did not introduce Marco, any coach would have done the same thing. I just asked Asensio to take that step.

"I was lucky to be there at the same time as him. I had been informed of his quality, but he evolved very fast.

"I noticed Marco right away, he was good one against one, had technical quality, goals ... he could pass on the left or right, he was incredible,"
