Former Liverpool winger Mark Kennedy has been named new manager of Macclesfield Town.

Kennedy was most recently U23 manager at Wolves.

He has agreed an initial deal until the end of the 2019/20 campaign and will be assisted by former Crystal Palace and Southampton defender Danny Butterfield, together with Macclesfield coach Danny Whitaker.

Kennedy assisted Sol Campbell at the Moss Rose for a short period last season before returning to Wolves earlier this term.
