Ex-Liverpool striker Sturridge remains hopeful resuming career in England

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge remains hopeful of resuming his career in England.

The 31-year-old remains a free agent and is considering options while he continues to maintain his fitness, says the Daily Mail.

Sturridge has been invited to train with Premier League clubs and he is open to showing he has lost none of his finishing prowess or sharpness since leaving Trabzonspor last summer with a firm belief he has unfinished business in this country.

Sturridge is understood to have turned down big money offers from Saudi Arabia and Egypt with his focus on finding the right club rather than bumper wages.

Championship clubs have also shown interest though he believes he still has a lot to offer at the top level.

The former England striker scored seven goals in 16 appearances in all competitions for Trabzonspor last season.
