Former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle is set to make his Chicago Fire debut next weekend.
The Frenchman is due to face DC United next Saturday, with a visa hearing today.
"For me, I was very happy to come here with an opportunity in a new league," he told MLSsoccer.com.
"I know the club has a lot of ambition and that was one of my main targets when I was looking for a club, because I'm still 29. I'm not near the end of my career, so I'm going to try to do something good here."
