Ex-Liverpool striker Dalla Valle training with Crewe

Former Liverpool and Fulham striker Lauri Dalla Valle is training with Crewe Alexandra.

The 23-year-old is without a club at the moment but had a successful loan spell with the Alex back 2013 where he scored five goals in 12 games whilst at Fulham.

"Lauri Dalla Valle has come in for a week or two, he is a player that we know well," Alex boss Steve Davis told The Sentinel.

"He left Fulham for Norway (in 2013) then went to Belgium and Italy recently but wasn't able to sign a contract because of some legal problem with the Belgian club so he was only playing behind closed doors games and training with them.

"He obviously looked at his options, he enjoyed his time here when he came from Fulham and decided that he would like to come back and see if that was an option or not.

"We know Lauri, we invited him over and he will play some games and see where he's up to.

"We know what he can do, we know he's a goalscorer, a 100 per center, gets in behind people, occupies centre halves and he's one of the fittest lads I've seen.

"He's only 23, I was amazed at that, but he's still a young lad so he has lots to offer and we will make a decision on how he does in the next week or two based on how he does and he could also be an addition because he's unattached at the moment."
