Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch praised Jordan Henderson for his winner against Champions League opponents AC Milan.
Crouch told BT Sport that captain Henderson's strike was reminiscent of legendary former skipper Steven Gerrard.
He said: "It was so much like Gerrard.
"How he stayed over the ball, got the power and technique just right. On the half-volley, it's a really difficult skill."
Fellow pundit Rio Ferdinand added: "He leads by example. He drives that team, when they need guidance and calmness."
