Former Liverpool prospect Edvard Tagseth is grateful for the grounding Rangers boss Steven Gerrard gave him in the Reds academy.
Tagseth is now a regular with Rosenborg after turning down new terms at Liverpool last year.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "It is even crazier now when I can look back [and remember being coached by Gerrard]. When you are there in the moment, that year I had, it got more and more normal every day on the training ground and at games.
"It was a really amazing experience and something that I will never forget. It was an honour to have him as a coach and everyone else thought the same.
"They are all great coaches at the Academy and I had a good relationship with them, but the thing with Steven was that he was really demanding and he knew what he wanted players to do - he expected a lot even though we were only 16 or 17.
"But the thing that impressed me the most was how humble he was off the pitch. He could take you to the side, one-v-one, and talk to you - tell you what you need to improve on, and what you are doing well.
"He was really good with me and from day one we had a really good relationship. He trusted me and he makes you feel confident in yourself."
