Ex-Liverpool chief Parry has role in UEFA Man City probe

Former Liverpool chief Rick Parry has the future of Manchester City in his hands.

City insist they have "comprehensive proof" against allegations of financial wrongdoing amid suggestions they may face a Champions League ban, reports the Mirror.

The Premier League champions have been under investigation by a regulatory committee over a series of leaks into their financial conduct.

Officials from UEFA's financial control board are set to submit their findings and will reportedly push for at least a one-year ban from Europe's premier competition.

And among those to make the final ruling is Parry.

Parry, who is also a former Premier League chief executive, held the post at Anfield for 11 years until 2009.

It is claimed he declined to address suggestions there may be a conflict of interest regarding his involvement.

The final decision on the investigation is made by former Belgian prime minister Yves Leterme, who is chairman and chief investigator of Uefa's investigatory chamber.
