Former Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre is being linked with a role at Newcastle United.
The Evening Chronicle says Ayre is one of the names in the frame for an executive role in the new Amanda Staveley-led regime.
He could become Chief Executive under the new regime.
He is currently the CEO at Nashville SC in Major League Soccer but had a role to play with the Fenway Sports Group at Liverpool and was the man who landed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, as well as playing a part in the transformation of the club.
He has also been involved in German football with TSV 1860 Munich.
