Ex-Leicester manager Pearson puts hand up for Middlesbrough job

Former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is among those who wants to manage Middlesbrough.

Tony Pulis was sacked by Boro last week, which means they are on the lookout for a replacement.

Pearson has confirmed that he would love to take on the job.

He was recently fired by OH Leuven in the Belgian second division.

"Of course," he told TeesideLive.

"I want to get back to work. I want to find the next challenge, the right challenge.

"Middlesbrough is a football club that anyone in my position would have to contemplate.

"It's a fantastic club. It's a fantastic job. And Steve Gibson is a fantastic chairman.

"Whoever gets the job will be taking over a superb club with all the structures in place to be successful."
