Former Lazio coach Sven Goran Eriksson is delighted seeing Simone Inzaghi succeeding with the Romans.

Eriksson worked with Inzaghi when in charge of Lazio.

"Simone Inzaghi always worked hard and I am happy for him," he said.

"I put up with (Roberto) Mancini for nine years! He was a genius as a player and could see things nobody else could.

"He was already basically coaching the others when he was playing and would always talk to me about football."

The Swede added: "With Lazio, we won seven trophies in three years. At one point, that was the strongest team in Europe. I also had beautiful experiences at Roma, Fiorentina and Sampdoria."
