Ex-Juventus chief Moggi slaughters quality of Italy squad

Former Juventus chief Luciano Moggi has slaughtered Italy's World Cup campaign.

Italy need victory over Uruguay to reach the knockout phase.

Moggi barked: "If the FIGC limited access to Serie A from so many foreigners, if the Lega disciplined the market to prevent this excess and the clubs looked after their youth academies better, then our image in the world would be improved.

"As things stand, that image was destroyed by the defeat to Costa Rica. There's no point complaining now about our Nazionale.

"For example, in the past Thiago Motta wouldn't even have found a space on the bench. Gabriel Paletta is also unworthy to wear the same jersey as so many great Italian defenders of previous years."
