Marco Di Vaio will stay with the Montreal Impact for at least another season after the club exercised their option for him.
The 37-year old Italian striker, who joined the Impact from Bologna last year, will be back for the 2014 MLS season after agreeing to another 12-month contract.
"I am very pleased to be back with the Impact in 2014," said Di Vaio in a club statement.
"After discussions with my family, it was clear that I wanted to keep playing and I am happy to be in Montreal for another season."
Di Vaio has had a brilliant 2013 campaign, scoring 19 goals in 30 appearances for the Impact to be the joint leader with Chicago Fire's Mike Magee on the league's scoring charts.
