Ex-Inter Milan chief Paolillo tribute to Sampdoria veteran Eto'o: He inspired Treble glory

Former Inter Milan chief Ernesto Paolillo has paid tribute to Sampdoria striker Samuel Eto'o.

Paolillo says Inter's famous Treble owed a lot to the leadership of the former Chelsea, Everton and Barcelona striker.

"He's a leader. An exceptional man for the dressing room.

"He dragged the team that year, not only on the field, transferring his winning mentality to his companions.

"For the Treble, we owe a great coach, (Jose) Mourinho, and a great motivator as Eto'o. He trained giving everything. His great intelligence led him to accept what the coach asked of him.

"Only he could do that. He wanted to win and had to show it to the team."
