Inter Milan hero Lele Oriali admits the manner of his departure last season still burns. Oriali was squeezed out of his management role at Inter, but after a disastrous few months, fans are calling for him to return.
"President (Massimo) Moratti was convinced by Marco Branca and other leaders they could do without my presence inside the club," explained Oriali.
"After 30 years at Inter I thought I had gained more credibility and respect, but they decided they did not need me and I do not know why. I only know those who wanted me out.
"I have spoken before and after to Moratti. The President reiterated his respect towards me even on TV."
On Inter GM Branca, Oriali continued, "I am happy not to have taken part in this project, having watched the last sixteen months. There have been mistakes of inexperience and overconfidence in the planning stage. Being a leader is not easy at Inter. You need experience."
