Former Holland international René van der Gijp has urged Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech to reject a move to Everton.

Everton are eyeing Ziyech for the January market, but van der Gijp says he can shoot for higher.

"I hope that there will be a better club than Roma, an Arsenal or Liverpool," said Van der Gijp, referring to Ziyech turning down AS Roma last summer.

"That would be crazy for that boy, he should not go to Everton, what are you doing there?"

The midfielder is tied to Ajax until 2021.
