Ex-Fulham, Tottenham keeper Kelley applauds Hassli stunner

Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller was full of praise for Vancouver Whitecaps striker Eric Hassli after he struck a superb equaliser on Saturday.

The French striker produced an absolutely brilliant individual effort when he pounced on an error from Osvaldo Alonso in the 85th minute before chipping the ball up and whipping a shot across his body from the edge of the area of Keller's head and in next to the far post.

The goal is an early contender for the MLS Goal of the Season and Keller gave it due credit, saying he was simply beaten by an unstoppable shot which made the game a 2-2 draw.

"I could give him that shot probably another 99 times and I don't know if he's going to score it, but he did (Saturday)," Keller said.

"Sometimes you've just got to shake somebody's hand and say, 'Hey, that's a hell of a goal.' "

But Hassli admitted that there was an element of luck.

"I closed my eyes and shot; I had a lot of luck there," he said.
