Ex-Fulham striker Johnson named MLS weekly winner

Seattle Sounders forward Eddie Johnson has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 12.

The 29-year old former Fulham, Sporting Kansas City and Cardiff City man scored a double in the Sounders' 4-2 victory over former club FC Dallas on the weekend to give him the nod for the third time as player of the week for the Sounders.

Johnson, who won the honour versus the LA Galaxy in Week 22 and Chivas USA in Week 27 last season, opened the scoring in the 16th minute as the Sounders kipped away to a two-goal lead before grabbing the go-ahead goal in the 62nd minute after Dallas levelled at 2-2.

Johnson has now scored four goals this season with Seattle sitting sixth on the Western Conference table with 15 points from 10 outings.
