Former Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov says he can handle the expectations of his move to AS Monaco.
Berbatov has played down the pressure of replacing the injured Radamel Falcao at Monaco.
He told L'Equipe: "I am not here to take anybody's place.
"Of course it is a big challenge to replace Falcao but I am here to play my part in the team.
"I was looking for something new. When Monaco contacted me I spoke to (former Monaco defender) Patrice Evra, one of my very good friends, and he said, 'Why not?'
"It was easy for me to decide. It's a big team and a new adventure. It's a new challenge, I will see if I can adapt quickly."
