Ex-Fulham star McBride scores in Chicago Fire farewell

Former Fulham star Brian McBride experienced a fairytale ending to his career by scoring in Chicago Fire's 4-1 win over Chivas USA on Saturday.

The 38-year old veteran scored with a neat back-heel to notch up his 80th MLS career goal as he went out on a high as the Fire pushed on to easily beat Chivas.

Goats left-back Jonathan Bornstein, who was also playing his final MLS match, said McBride's goal was special moment in the game.

"That was pretty amazing," Bornstein said of the goal. "I thought it was a great way for him to finish his career. He's scored a lot of goals like that. It was icing on the cake for him and I'm extremely proud of him for doing that. Hopefully one day I can say that I had as illustrious a career as he has had."

McBride ends his brilliant career with 44 goals in the English Premier League with Fulham and 30 for the USA national team to add to his MLS total.
