Seattle Sounders ace Clint Dempsey has been named the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month for April.
31-year old former Fulham and Tottenham attacking midfielder Dempsey received 84% of the fan vote this week to easily beat his five competitors to the award for the second month of the 2014 season.
The USA national team captain had a stellar month for the Sounders, scoring seven goals in four matches, to guide Seattle to the top of the Western Conference table while shooting himself to the top of the Golden Boot charts.
Dempsey, who attracted exactly 84.3% of the vote, beat DC United's Fabian Espindola (5.67%), New York Red Bulls attacker Bradley Wright-Phillips (4.65%), LA Galaxy skipper Robbie Keane (3.58%) and DC defender Bobby Boswell (1.8%) to the award to join FC Dallas midfielder Mauro Diaz on the monthly award winners list.
