Maccabi Petah Tikva veteran Xavier Tomas has spoken of his time playing with Arsenal pair Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud.

Tomas is proud to have been a teammate of both French stars while playing for FC Tours.

He recalled to So Foot: "I am proud of their course. It was not easy for them and they showed to some that it is not because you started in Ligue 2 that you can not succeed.

"It shows that nothing is preordained. It's great what happened to them.

"But do not forget that they had to go through a lot of c ** before arriving there, huh?

"They showed their quality at Tours. Laurent was class, it was great to play with him in defence. Then with Olivier, if you did not have too many solutions, you sent him the ball and he'd do something great!"
