Former Everton and Manchester City midfielder Chris Shuker is joining Tranmere Rovers as Mickey Adams' No2.

Shuker spent four years at Prenton Park as a player.

Adams said: "Chris is someone who knows the club well and I'm pleased he's come back to join the coaching staff.

"He played for me at Port Vale where he was a really positive influence on the dressing room and I know he'll be doing everything he can to help us climb the league."
