Ex-Derby, West Brom winger Barnes frustrated but calm over Houston Dynamo drought

Giles Barnes admits it has been frustrating not to score in his past eight MLS outings for Houston Dynamo.

The 24-year old former Derby County, West Bromwich Albion and Doncaster Rovers winger has not netted since the 4-0 victory over DC United in early May but says he is not too worried about his scoring drought as long as the Texan club continues to win.

"It's a bit frustrating," Barnes told MLSsoccer.com.

"As a striker or attacking midfielder you want to be scoring goals. [I'm] still making chances, still working hard for the team and we're getting goals in other places. As long as I'm helping the team I don't need all the glory.

"As long as I play well and work hard that's all I can do. When I start scoring again that puts pressure on everyone else. As long as I'm playing well and working hard the goals can come from anywhere."

Since arriving at the Dynamo from the UK, Barnes has scored four goals in 18 MLS appearances as well as an additional goal in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup competition.
