Ex-Dallas, Stabaek midfielder Jacobson excited to play alongside Lampard, Villa at NYCFC

Andrew Jacobson admits he is eagerly anticipating being the teammate of New York City FC's two marquee players.

The 29-year old midfielder is back in the USA following a loan with Norwegian side Stabaek and looking forward to getting his NYCFC career started alongside Chelsea great Frank Lampard and ex-Valencia, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid striker David Villa who both joined the MLS expansion franchise earlier this year.

"I think NYCFC has made a very clear statement with their signings so far. Lampard and Villa are guys who have won so much and bring so much to the team," Jacobson told MLSsoccer.com.

"It is a real honor to be brought in with this original group of players. This has to be one of the coolest opportunities in the world, and I am very thankful to be a part of it."

And Jacobson, who has previously played with Lorient, DC United and Philadelphia Union, was complimentary of his other old MLS club FC Dallas for helping him make the move to New York who begin play in 2015.

"I enjoyed every minute in Dallas and really appreciate how much Dallas helped me," Jacobson added.

"They were so gracious the whole time, even at the end in helping me go to NYCFC."
