Ex-CSKA chief Yarovinsky: Golovin chose Monaco over Chelsea and Man Utd

Former CSKA Moscow sports chief Oleg Yarovinsky has recalled Aleksandr Golovin rejecting Premier League offers for AS Monaco.

Golovin left CSKA for Monaco in 2018.

Yarovinsky recalled to Sport-Express: "Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United wanted him.

"If guided by emotions, and not by reason, I would go to Chelsea if I were Sasha. Or any other club in the Premier League. Because of the magical football atmosphere. In France, this is not even close.

"And the Stade Louis II, where Monaco plays home matches, makes me feel sad in general. With columns and empty stands, it resembles an old arena in some Novorossiysk.

"Emotions aside, he and his agents did everything right. In England, it would be much harder for Sasha, there no one gives time to build up. In terms of adapting to European football and life in the West, Monaco is the best option."
