Ex-Crystal Palace chairman Jordan slams Neville, Scholes: Disingenuous, disqualified

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has launched a withering attack on Manchester United icons Gary Neville and Paul Scholes.

Jordan is fed-up with Neville's criticism of United manager Jose Mourinho.

"Gary Neville makes a lot of sense to me in a lot of different environments," he said on talkSPORT.

"But when it comes to management speak, his credentials were to be one of the coaches to preside over that debacle against Iceland and that ludicrous stint in Valencia.

"Some of the stuff that comes out of Gary's mouth, despite the fact he played for the greatest Premier League manager ever, doesn't qualify him to be an observationist about Mourinho and how he is managing."

On Scholes' comments, Jordan added: “I find some of the commentary around Man United to be counter-productive, disingenuous, and about people giving themselves an opportunity to say something which I don't think is really representative of the truth.

“The world evolves, it doesn't stay the same, Man United are having challenges that are very difficult to overcome, so you can't superimpose what Paul Scholes knows about Man United when he was playing for Sir Alex Ferguson to what's happening now.

“This lies with Ed Woodward and a lack of direction at the top."
